Oh goodness, this is a tough one. The scripture verses urging us to trust the Lord almost seem like white noise if you have been in church for any length of time. They are so often quoted, displayed on tee shirts and magnets, greeting cards and church signs. Of course we trust God with our very souls; He’s the only one that could keep us for eternity! But with our money?! Our health?! Our fragile emotions?! Maybe we have a little wisdom to add, a little control to enjoy. Or do we? That’s where the rubber meets the road. This month we will meet on the rubber (mat) and explore TRUST.
After spending last month “letting go”, it’s natural to follow it with replacing our vice grip on our lives with trusting God with every detail. I’ve chosen to believe that everything that happens, even apparent setbacks, are meant to be stepping stones toward what God desires for us.
This month I’d love to focus on one passage. It is familiar. You may already have it memorized, or cross stitched on a pillow. But it is so rich and so good, it is worth meditating on and focusing on.
Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
If you don’t already, write this down and put it in a prominent place in your life. Let’s let it pervade our thoughts and being and enjoy God’s ever patient and loving care.
