For me, calming my busy mind long enough to sit quietly and study Scripture, pray, or listen to the Holy Spirit has always been a challenge.
I know what it’s like to beat myself up because of not being able to stick with “the spiritual disciplines,” and as a result, to stop trying. To have feelings of frustration, failure, and wondering “what’s wrong with me?”
I know what it’s like to feel powerless to help myself feel better. To lack energy and feel overwhelmed. To be discouraged because I don’t feel like I have the energy to “do the things God wants me to do.”
WHAT I’VE LEARNED IS THAT I CAN SHINE HIS LIGHT, JUST AS I AM.
God delights in me. Right now. Before I lose those 10 pounds. Before I “get better”. He loves when I talk to Him. And when I ask.
I found yoga to be a multi-faceted approach that allows me to slow down and get my body, mind, and spirit ready to be nourished by the never ending supply of grace, love, forgiveness, peace, and wisdom available to us through Jesus. And I want to share that experience with you.
My focus in Shine His Light Yoga is to teach you simple, doable, practices that will:
- help you deepen your devotional time.
- bring focus and clarity to your mind.
- empower you to make the changes you want in your body.
Perfection is not the goal. Love is. Love God, love others. Self care is the most others-serving thing you can do. Let’s do this!
